Tomorrow is my Dad's last day off to hunt with me this season. This evening we were trying to decide where to go in the morning. We checked a couple fields and ended up in Crappielady's barn loft looking for turkeys. Sure enough, two black dots were right where the desperation double took place. I zoom up with the camera and it's two longbeards! So this is where we'll be in the morning. Here's a video still:

Good luck! Would love to see one of those wily, old long beards go down.

I keep checking on here hoping to see a dead bird, but I have to go to work now. Call my cell if there's any big news to report. If nothing went down today, I think you need to go with your Dad's plan for an ambush tomorrow. You know you'll see birds there. Take the 870 so you'll have more shots and let 'em have it.

Chase had the bead on a huge gobbler at 30 yds. He asks me if he can shoot. I tell him to let it take another step so it will be on camera. The tom bolts, he didn't get a shot. I'm sick and disgusted and ready to put these stupid cameras on ebay and start hunting for fun again.

I got home this evening from work and Chase was still out hunting. I walked around outside and heard 2 birds gobbling. I called him on the cell phone and he was lying in some weeds working the birds in. They had hung up and he was getting in to position to cut them off from their roost, this was at 8pm of the last day. This kid has a never say die attitude and I'm proud of him. It didn't work out, but he just showed me some great footage he got of the full moon this morning and 2 birds strutting and gobbling.
