Me and Sam hit up Midland Lake Saturday morning. We were hoping to get into some trout. We were trolling and casting little rooster tails like we have done in the past but nothing was biting this time. We caught a few keeper gills and a bass or two. Nothing really picture worthy. There's been a lot of work done around the boat ramp area of the lake. A lot of brush has been cleared making it nicer to bank fish right there. I didn't have a fish finder but I overheard someone say the water was 75. There were 8-10 other boats out there by late morning. Didn't look like anyone else was doing better. We did find some big redear spawning at the west end where the ditch runs in but we couldn't get them to bite.
