I’ve been getting interested in saddle hunting after watching The Hunting Public channel but their rigs cost 2-300 bucks. Came across rock climbing harnesses on Amazon and wondered if anyone has tried using them as saddles. Found this video and a saddle hunter forum of guys that use this sit up and prefer them over stands. I think I’ll try to get this set up for next year.

Very interesting! I actually know those knots from being on the confined space rescue team at work and have a "cheat sheet" book that shows how to tie the knots. I'd probably feel more secure in one of those setups than being in your normal deer stand.

DIY Sportsman is one of my favorite YT channels. That dude has some great ideas.

I've been contemplating this type of hunting too. I almost bit the bullet this summer and bought all the gear and then I tore my meniscus in my right knee. I'm glad I didn't buy it now. After an x-ray and an MRI the dr discovered I have severe arthritis in both knees and will likely need knee replacements in a few years. My knees hurt so bad I can't imagine doing this type of hunting now. It does look intriguing though.
