So it's been over a year since my little experiment of changing my channel name from HoosierOutdoors to TL Bell and I guess you could call it a success because I gained around 800 subscribers this year. I'm currently over 4,300 subs, although that will probably change as YT is again removing closed accounts and what they see as "spam" accounts from your subscriber total. Anyhow, I'm getting bored again with the name so I was thinking about switching back to the HoosierOutdoors name. Mainly because that's what my URL is anyhow. When you change your name it just changes how it's displayed, it doesn't really change the name. I know most of you don't give 2 shits  but I thought I'd ask y'alls opinion anyhow. My wife tells me my opinion rarely counts anyway, so I have kinda gotten used to that. It all looks good to me. I usually say whatever makes you happy, so I will say it again this time. Waiting to see what the other guys think!!!

Been trying to think of a channel name myself. Since I bought the self-filming setup I am debating on renaming my existing channel or starting a new one. I only have 302 subscribers, but I do have a couple of videos with a decent number of views considering how many subscribers I have.
I like the TLBell name. Your reasoning (Florida fishing) for making that switch made sense to me, but HoosierOutdoors seems like something that folks can remember better. It's a tough call, because I do understand where you're coming from with the feeling of being pigeonholed with Hoosier as part of the channel name.

Thanks for the input guys.  I try not to worry about the name because you see a lot of big channels that have names that don't really make sense. One other thing, even though my URL has remained HoosierOutdoors, it no longer shows up in searches. There is a new channel with that name that shows up though. My TL Bell name does come up in searches though so I'm not real sure how this name thing works? LOL |

I voted TL Bell. Like you said I don't think channel names matter that much. It seems like a lot of the bigger channels just use their full names.
