Every year on 9/11 I spend some time watching various documentaries and videos regarding the events of 9/11. As tragic and horrific as a day that it was there were many great things that happened in the minutes, hours and days following the attacks. The short documentary video below is one of those stories about average people stepping in an enormous way. That's what true Americans do! The events that day truly did unify our country unlike never before...unfortunately only for a short time. Since that time the national media has created so much division in this country that it is sickening. This country needs to get back to what things were like on 9/12/01! My wife asked me last night why I like to watch all these 9/11 videos. I replied, "because it revives my patriotism and renews my hope for a better America!"
Everybody who was alive and older than probably 6 years old remembers exactly what they were doing that moment they learned the nation was under attack. What were you all doing that day? I was getting ready to go dove hunting with a buddy and we were on our way to the local Meijer store to get some shells. On the way there, there was announcement that came on the radio that a possible plane had flown into the first tower. On the way back home, right in the middle of a song the dj cut in and said that a second tower had been hit and that it appears like America may be under attack! At this point, we decided this might be worth "tuning in" to. So, we headed back to my buddies apartment to watch the news coverage on TV. Not long after tuning in the second tower that got hit tumbled and basically disintegrated within seconds. I just watched in awe. I couldn't believe what was happening. I remember flipping through the cable tv stations and literally every station was covering this! You couldn't avoid seeing it. I'll never forget that day.
