So my grandma and grandpa Bell used to fry fish in a batter when I was a kid and it was SO good. I've never been able to get it exactly right but I just watched this video and the recipe here looks very similar so I'm gonna give it another try.
Batter Ingredients
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 1/2 cups warmed ginger ale 4 tsp corn starch 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp baking powder salt
Mix all the dry ingredients and then add the warmed up ginger ale. It should foam up when you add it. Mix to a good batter consistency then dip fish and fry. Try to keep the oil at a lower temperature than normal frying so the batter doesn't burn. 320-340 instead of the usual 350-375.

I haven't had much success with fish batters neither. I'm interested to see how this turns out. I'll just be sitting here waiting for your review
