Was trying for flounder on the bottom but all my catches came on a free lined shrimp.

I caught a few jacks when I was in Florida years back for my brother's wedding. I likened them to bluegill around here. They seemed plentiful, weren't overly large, but put up a good fight for their size.

I have seen pictures of them where they can get to be huge though.

Is the mangrove a tasty fish?

I just filleted them and left the skin on and sprinkled Old Bay on them and grilled.

daybreak: Always loved Labor Day weekend. Time for those jet skis and speed boats to go back in storage and make room on the lakes for us fishermen again. (:))
