Tried catching some crabs last week but I think it was to cold. Gail did catch a couple small ones when we were bridge fishing. I ended up buying 6 large live blue crabs at a seafood shop. I boiled them for 10 minutes with just ingredients I had on hand; Zatarain's seafood boil, garlic cloves, hot sauce, limes, and some white vinegar that supposedly makes the meat come out of the shell easier. After 10 minutes you shut off the heat and add ice to the pot to "draw in" the seasonings. They were pretty good but man they're hard to eat! Took me about an hour to eat 6 crabs. I'm gonna try to catch some next time we're down when it's warm, but I don't think I'll buy them again. It was $15 for the 6.

I've had them once and my opinion is the same as yours...I wish they weren't so hard to eat! They are a lot of work for no more than you get out of them. If there is an easier way then somebody needs to show me.

I watched several videos on how to eat them but it didn't help that much. I think you'd have to eat a ton of them to get good at it. Here's my favorite video.
