Just ordered 4 more of the PENN Pursuit II 4000 combos.  LOL Hard to pass this deal up! I plan on keeping these 4 in Indiana and use them to go after some wipers from the pontoon boat this year. They also took an additional 10% off this time because I signed up for their email newsletter deal last time. So for the 4 combos and sales tax it was $115.56 and free shipping. |

Received 5 of the 6 combos I ordered today. The flimsy boxes they were shipped in were bent and crushed and I figured all the rods were broke. Ended up with only 1 rod broke but now I'm jumping through hoops for Penn Fishing to get it remedied. They had me open a case against FedEx, take 5 different photos of the rod and packaging, and include a copy of the invoice in an email. Hopefully they'll make it good. Regardless, it will be the last thing I order from them just because of their packaging.

I got my big 6000 combo yesterday. This will mainly be a surf fishing combo. The rod is a 2pc 8' so I wasn't to concerned about the shipping this time but I again wasn't happy with the packaging. The box was sturdier but there was absolutely no packing material in with the combo and it was a fairly big box. Can't imagine how beat around this thing was in transit. The reel handles come unattached and ziptied to the reel but the ziptie had broke. I think everything is ok. These combos are coming from Pure Fishing in Kansas City and they include Berkeley and Abu Garcia along with PENN, so I'm assuming if you order from any of these companies the packaging will be garbage.  |

Got my replacement yesterday. They sent another combo so I guess I get a free reel for my troubles. LOL
What gets me is the replacement was sent in a nice sturdy box with the big bubble wrap stuff. Why didn't they do that from the beginning?
