So I bought this back near the end of March and I've yet to take it out. Between the weather (and being a newb to kayaks), work, missing components and breaking a bone in my hand it's been a challenge to get this thing on the water. The bone break wasn't bad...cracked a metacarpel just below my pinky knuckle...it was 100% my fault and preventable. Still hurt though. Still does actually. I've been wearing a splint for over 2 weeks and I go back Tuesday for xrays and hopefully can stop wearing. This is a pedal kayak and that's where some of the missing components come into play. I waited 2 weeks before I even unwrapped it and discovered the pedals, crank arms and hardware were missing. The drive unit was there. 3 days after I discovered that is when I broke the bone in my hand. Ended up getting the missing parts last Monday. I may get to take it out this weekend. The hand is doing better. Still haven't been fishing yet. Won't be playing golf for about another month either. Anywho...here's what the 'yak looks like in the bed of my truck. Mods are a coming for it. Just don't know exactly when.

That thing looks pretty sweet! I didn't know Perception made a pedal yak. Look forward to hearing how it rides.

As far as pedal yaks go they're about the cheapest. Academy has them for $300 off retail at the moment but that's still $1500. They had another deal going when I bought mine if you used gift cards to purchase an item you would get 10% back. They set me up to buy 2 gift cards covering the total and then used the cards to pay for the yak. So in a way I paid $1350 for it. I need another gun safe so I'll use that money back towards it.

My Lund boat will be going to a new home either this weekend or next as well. Hate to see it go but it hasn't been on the water since 2013 and I'm tired of looking at it. No ambition to spend the coin and get it back on the water.

I’m pretty sure that’s the yak Tony just got. (Opotchli sp?)
Haven’t heard him say a bad thing about it yet. It’s looks sweet for sure. Just don’t get the fancy c-tug cart to take it off road lol.

Finally got to take the maiden voyage yesterday. However, I forgot my camera and wasn't about to take my cell with me so no video. I failed to even take a pic of it in the water next to the bank. I was on private and the water was calm. I think the worst part was picking the hottest day of the year during the hottest part of the day to test it. Pretty sure I dropped a few pounds yesterday. The yak rides good. My biggest complaint is the angle of the seat. It's set for pedaling and you lean far back to accommodate that. I need to raise the back of the seat to find a happy medium for pedaling and fishing in more of an upright position. On calm water the pedal drive moves the yak fairly quick; more than what I was expecting. So other than a seat adjustment I also need to wire it with lights for those early morning or late evening fishing times (going to put some of those fancy led's on as well) and I need to make a platform for the yak to sit on while transporting in the truck. The rudder sticks out behind the yak and digs into my tool box on the truck. When I strap it down it really starts to dig in. So my plan is to make a platform out of pvc and set the yak on top of that so the rudder will clear the top of the tool box. I'm probably going to make my own cart too. My boss built his own (using pvc and tires he found at Harbor Freight) for under $50. I'm still undecided on whether or not I'm going to put a fish finder on. The last thing is my 7 foot paddle isn't long enough. Probably need an 8 ft minimum.

I always check the Florida craigslist when I'm heading that way and I saw that someone has one of these for sale with a bending branches paddle for $1200. Might go check it out if it's still there in a couple weeks. Would be nice to have 2 yaks down there so someone could go out with me.
