My first musky... Caught out of Bass Lake in the Dugger Unit of the GSSF. I had wanted to catch a musky for years, but was never able to hook up with anyone to make it happen. My cousin’s husband was heading out and let me tag along. We battled a gusty wind which made for tough fishing, but I was able to get a musky in the boat in well under 10,000 casts. We unhooked the fish, took a photo and got it back in the water, so we didn’t get solid measurements. I’d guess the fish was at least legal size (36”) and probably weighed 8-10 pounds.

My first keeper targeted saltwater species from the kayak. A 20" speckled trout caught using a free lined live shrimp from the Halifax River near Daytona Beach.
