The wife and I attended the Purdue homecoming game against Michigan last Saturday because our daughter from Denver had flown in to participate in the Alumni Marching Band. I asked my daughter to find a percussionist in the regular band named Sam (aka catfishsam) and get a picture with him. I know the uniforms make everyone look different because I used to have a hard time picking out my own daughter back in the day, but I think she got the wrong Sam. Troy, can I get a positve or negatvie ID on this pic?? 🤔   |

That's Catfish Sam! What a small world. My wife and I were there too. Really cool to see how many alumni return to play in the band.

Thanks Monty!! It is a small world and I like that!!  He looks so different in uniform, but like I said I had trouble spotting my own daughter in uniform, too!! |

I have season tickets so I will be at the game Saturday. I will look for him when they do the pregame on Slayter Hill. The purdue marching band is awesome. I saw Sam last year when him and small group from the band were marching through our tailgate area playing pep songs. So cool when they do that!

It's funny that you posted this because just a day or two ago was asking myself if Sam still played in the band. What year is he now?

Yep, he's a junior now. Sounds like there's some really tough competition just to make the band every year so we're all proud of him!
