I been thinking & the wife wants me to record my hunting adventures, where is a good place to start ? The go pro doesn't have a zoom option so am I looking for a mini cam Corder ? I'll take your recommendation as you have posted so great videos over the years

A cheap camcorder is what you will want to start with. The gopro is a great second camera option. I like to have the gopro facing me and using the camera on the animal. That way if I'm unable to get the kill shot on video I will at least have the gopro footage of me. This is the camera I'm currently using when I'm by myself. Canon Camera In my turkey video this year and the coyote video I'm using this camera. It does okay for the price. Low light it can struggle which is a bummer when it comes the cheaper cameras as that is when a lot of action happens deer hunting. I also have a Nikon DSLR camera that takes great video. It was used to film last year's turkey kills. It is difficult to self film with so it is only used when I'm filming someone or I have a camera man. Next thing you will need is a tripod and/or camera arm. I'm not sure the model of the tripod I use but it is a lower end one. The more you spend, the smoother and more professional the video will look. Here is something similar to what I use. TripodThose shiny legs can be covered with camo tape or some paint. When it comes to camera arms for tree stand hunting I usually use a 3rd arm mini. It seems that company must no longer be around because I couldn't find any. We also have a very heavy duty professional camera arm by them. I usually use the mini because it is so light and easy to use. Here's a camera arm similar to what I use. Camera armThat's about all you need. Am external mic is a good thing to have. Here's one I have and it works great. Mic Another good thing to have is extra batteries. I usually use 32 gb sd cards. Hope this helps.

I don't have any problem filming my hunts. The problem I have is editing the footage that I have filmed. I just haven't taken the time to really learn any editing software so it is very tedious anytime I do try and edit. Good editing can take some average footage and make it look pretty good.
