Didn't exactly get the results I was hoping for with the pet scan. The cancer is still hanging around my spleen. I'll find out more next Thursday. They may change up the chemo or they might take out my spleen. We shall see.

Going back to work tomorrow. It will only be for 3 days as I have chemo on Thursday. It will be nice to see everyone again.

They scheduled me for a cat scan this Thursday to see what's going on around my spleen. The pet scan showed activity but it's only suggested that there's activity. The cat scan should give us a better idea. I did find out that there was more than one mass around my spleen when first diagnosed. The biggest mass was also just shy of 2 inches. No wonder I didn't feel good. If it looks like there's improvement then chemo won't change and I should have 4 more to go.

Hopefully there's improvement. So how was it going back to work after all this time?

Well the pet scan was right but there was improvement. The masses have shrank quite a bit and there are no signs of any activity around my liver or my lymph nodes. My spleen seems to be of normal size once again too. Apparently my spleen was swollen to the point it was touching my liver. Also explains why I probably went jaundice back in December. Since there was improvement my chemo did not change and I now have 3 rounds left. I will get another scan done in the beginning of June after my last treatment.

So 11 of 12 is complete. 1 round left. Cat scan scheduled 2 weeks after the last round and a pet scan 1 week after the cat.

Well chemo is done for now. My last treatment was pushed back a week due to low white blood cells. My last treatment happened on the 31st. Now I just wait for the cat scan on the 12th, a pet scan on the 19th and a follow up with the Doc on the 21st. That's when I'll find out if I get anymore or if I'm done.

Ok so it's time for another update...and it's a good one. I had a cat scan done on June 12 and a pet scan on the 19th. I got the results on Wednesday and I am officially in remission! The cat scan did show a mass still near my spleen but the pet scan did not detect any cancer activity. Dr said it was scar tissue from one of the masses next to the spleen (probably the 2 incher). I'll have a follow up with the Dr in September and for the next 2 years I'll get a cat scan every 6 months; next one in December. My chemo port should be coming out next month as well. Quite ready for that thing to be removed.
