I've always heard the key is keeping your hands busy.

If there's one thing I'm good at it's saving money...to an extent. I still have money left over from last years tax check. Back on Black Friday I ordered a 10.5" upper for one of my stripped lowers sitting in the safe. Also ordered a cheek rest stock (not an actual stock since it's a pistol build) from another website. Had I known I would get diagnosed with cancer a week later I wouldn't have ordered either but I did so now I have another AR to put together. I ordered the rest of the parts I needed to finish the build with last years tax money (still have some left). The part that sucks is tomorrow I get my port installed so I won't be up to the task of assembling an AR afterwards. I'll at least have something to do Thursday, Friday or this weekend. We shall see how everything goes.

Here's a pic of my port install from Wednesday and the scar from my biopsy just below the center of my neck. The incision for the port is healing and itches a lot. Got some pain meds for it too. I've also noticed that my hair is starting to fall out. It's not noticeable but I see it. Facial hair gathers on my shirt throughout the day and the hair that is in the bath tub after showering. I'd say I'll be shaving before the month is over. Also completed that AR15 I referenced the other day. Even though this thing has a 10.5" barrel it is still considered a pistol. The "stock" on it isn't considered a stock by the ATF so it's called a cheek rest and can go on pistol length AR's.

I got tired of cleaning my shirt off from all the facial hair and I clogged up the bath tub drain too. Shaved my head down with my clippers and no attachment and went back to my goatee. I still get a little bit of facial hair gathering on my shirt but it's not nearly as bad. Got the drain unclogged too.

Starting to sound like a broken record but round 3 was pretty much the same. I did venture out today and finally checked my trail cams after almost 2 months. Surprisingly none of the cams had dead batteries. I kind of found my limits on what I can do and now understand what the surgeon was talking about when she said to take it easy for 2 weeks after getting the port installed. Such a simple task like steering a 3 wheeler really agitated my port. Thank god for pain meds.

I was actually surprised to see 4 or 5 bucks still kicking. I don't know where they went during the season but they're still alive. I thought for sure the property owners to the north slaughtered the majority based on the amount of gun shots I heard. Now I'm wondering what they were even shooting at?

It's always good to see what survived the season. Gives you some hope for next season.

I haven't updated this in a while. Of course not much has changed. I've now been through 7 rounds of chemo and long term effects are starting to set in. I'm not in bad shape but I'm just noticing things. The last round wasn't as bad but the couple before it really knocked me down. I was really handling this like a champ or so I thought and all of a sudden the chemo made me its bitch. Doing better this go around though. I did get a pet scan last week but I haven't gotten those results yet. Haven't made it back to work either. Starting to get a little stir crazy. I also ended up with a blood clot in my left arm (in a superficial vein, not a deep). Doc has me taking 1 aspirin a day to thin my blood and after 5 days it does feel much better. Before I couldn't straighten my arm out; now I can and the pain is still there but not nearly as bad.

Also the hair on top of my head is slowly making a come back but my beard is still patchy. I did shave my head again a couple weeks ago. It's not falling out still but rather it was looking really thin. It's looking better this time.
