So I was sitting around watching Gail's grandkids open their presents yesterday when my phone went off with a facebook message from someone I didn't know. I called the number they left and it ended up being Captain Scott Manning of Tennessee River Monsters Guide Service informing me I'd won the grand prize of their Christmas giveaway on facebook!  I had a choice of a full day of catfish or striper fishing and I chose striper. Funny thing is that I was already planning on taking Gail down there striper fishing this year, I just hadn't decided who with yet! I know now! lol  I just now was able to checkout the website and it looks pretty sweet. Hope we get into a big one or two. That's awesome. Sounds like it should be a fun trip. Hopefully there will be video of a few monster stripers.

Got a phone call from Capt. Manning last night and he said the striper fishing is tough right now and gave me the choice of moving to a later date to when the bite will hopefully improve. Guess the water is high down there and he said the water temp is 64 and the bite usually gets hot around 75. Right now we're booked for July 12th. The only bad part about that is the heat and he said we probably won't be able to release all of our catches.

That's a pretty decent thing of the guide to call and give you the option to reschedule.

Been a slight change of plans for our trip. Gail is afraid she won't be able to handle the heat and being in a boat for very long so Chase and hopefully Colton will be going. It will be like the old days of the BB&B fishing trips! |
