I had a bad taste in my mouth since I left that pit on Saturday, so I decided to head back over after work yesterday. Managed a nice little mess in a couple hours. The big boys didn't come out to play like they were on Saturday, but still some very nice gills and ears. The ears really liked the purple ratso/beemoth combo in deeper water. The gills mostly preferred the nuclear ant/cricket combo closer to the thick weeds. Had four that nosed up to 9". Wind was coming out of the west yesterday versus a easterly breeze on Saturday.   |

Good deal! Did you have any trouble getting on the water? I've never been able to get on there because of the inch deep water around the edge and mud.

I parked the truck near the road so I wouldn't get hung in the mud and then wheeled the yak down. I had a pair old shoes on and waded in the muck until I got in the yak. I would be leery of backing a boat trailer down there.

I forgot to add some of the fish were just plum full of those cicadas. I'm jealous of you western Greene county folk. You have unlimited, free bait everywhere right now. I haven't seen a single one where I live.

And just a heads up, decaying cicadas in a bluegill stomach have a very distinct smell lol.
