I would give up deer hunting if I could do this every weekend. I am ready to go again.

Do people see wild pheasants any longer? I kicked one up behind my grandma's when I was ten or so, but that is the only time I recall ever seeing one. All I remember is that it scared the crap out of me when it took off cackling.

Do people see wild pheasants any longer? I remember jonboy posted a pic of one in front of his house over by Worthington a couple years ago. I haven't seen one here at our place since I was a kid. Use to see them down south of Lyons on the way to my Grandpa's cabin when I was growing up. Looks like if you want to bird hunt it's gonna be game preserves, put and takes, or raise your own.

The quail population in the Goose Pond seems to be rebounding. I wonder if that is possible with pheasants as well.

It might help if farmers didn't clean up so much by not discing up the fields in winter and leaving wind breaks and hedge rows. But we all know that won't happen. I kicked up on quail in Chinook when I was going for rabbits, but thats about it.
