Shot a doe at 37 yards and it passed through but failed to deploy the blades. This a G5 T3. I'm going back to fixed. Had blood but the deer ran until the blood stopped. Unfortunately I did not find it. Searched on my hands and knees for 3 hours. I hate wounding an animal but I had no blood to follow anymore. Comments and constructive criticism welcome.

That sucks, I use Muzzy 3 blade's and they work pretty good. I think I will try Swhacker broadheads next year. Never used mechanicals before. I know that some brands have performed poorly. Some that come to mind are Rage 3 blades, NAP blood runners have been known to fail and i wouldnt try them. Rage two blades might be good, but goodness they are expensive.

Hmm, i guess there are positives and negatives to each side. Mechanicals may shoot like field tips, but may end up getting less penetration due to the force being used to deploy the blades. A twig my hit them and they may open prematurely, they may not open at all. But fixed blades are more affected in the wind, and sometimes difficult to get to shoot like your field tips. They say mechanicals are not good for quartering to or away shots, however one of Shwhackers selling points is that it can be shot at a quartering away deer.
