Punched my buck tag tonight! 
Sat in the stand where I had seen "Boomerang", the deer I passed twice last year to grow, and wouldnt you know it, he showed up at about 6:55. I had been sitting there listening to squirrels scampering in the dry leaves all evening, when I detected the cadence of a cruising buck strolling through the woods. I knew it was a buck! He was walking along the field about 20 yards inside the edge of the woods to me ( I would not have a shot unless he stepped into field) Then he sounded like he was turning away going downhill, so I grunted and also threw in a doe bleat. I then heard the crunching of leaves and sticks cracking and looked behind me to see him walking in to me across the hillside through the woods. I preset the camera over my shooting lane, hit record and got ready. He came by his scrape and entered the field circling around in front of my stand about 23 yards out. I drew my bow when he passed behind a big sycamore tree, then when he entered the shooting lane I tried to stop him twice, but I was so nervous I screwed up and shot while he was still moving after he didnt stop on the second grunt. He walked off 40 yards and stood with his head down for 5 minutes, then started breathing hard and swaying side to side , then bedding down. I backed out and came back 3 hours later with a crew to help me. Turns out I got into the guts and part of the liver. Thank God I got the liver. He was stiff as a board. I think he was dead shortly after bedding down, but I did not want to jump him and lose him.
