Hey to all again. Whenever the main page went down i thought the entire website had gone down so thats why i havent been on here. Ive been out a couple of times but been busy with the new job (Jasper Engines and Transmissions) but last week i got permission on a new property and got to it. I saw 12 does on my first hunt which lasted about 3 hours so not bad at all. Second hunt was Friday and obviously with 30 mph sustained winds and trees falling over didnt see anything. Sunday i was in the woods for almost the entire day except an hour and a half spent eating. I had seen one doe that morning. Got down about 10:30 and scouted a bit since i dont know any of the property. Saw 9 more. Went and hung a tree stand and saw 18 deer standing on the ground trying to get it put up one of which was a shooter buck at 90ish yards that didnt even notice me. I went and got my bow and gear and set up. next thing i know the farmers here to finally take out the corn. My luck happened to be that i was less than 50 yards from the access trail because the deer were using it at a travel corridor. naturally i thought my night was busted but i figured he might run some outve the corn so i hung around. two hours later and no deer a doe comes up draw back she turned strait away from me and locks onto something... the grain cart coming up the trail. naturally she busted and ran outve range. Less than 20 minutes later i look on the trail and all i see is huge body and a VERY nice looking rack. so i grunted and here he came. he jumped off the access road and froze. Sure enough mr grain cart is coming back. but for some reason he froze and didnt move. once the cart had passed i grunted again and here he comes. before i know it he is 15 yards broadside. Sadly this bruiser had met his match and was missing his right side past his brow so he got the pass. But this new property looks promising and with the corn out it can only get better. AND if that big boy got messed up like that then there has to be an even bigger one running around somewhere. I havent even had a chance to run a camera out there so im going in blind without knowing any of the property and so far its going well. Hopefully ill have a deer on the ground to show you all before much longer. Sorry for the essay but working so much im not sure how often ill be on here so i figured id make the most of it My cousin hunts the property that neighbors mine to the north and our two corn fields are connected. He said last year in gun season it was nothing to see over 10 deer everyday in my property's corn field so come gun season i should definately have plenty of targets. Good luck all and happy hunting!

Finally saw one deer tonight....and she's hanging in the garage. Was texting a buddy asking if he's killed anything yet and when I looked up a little doe was standing 5 yards in front of the groundblind and I couldn't let her walk. I hadn't practiced any 5 yard shots and my shot was high, spined her. Good thing I forgot to hit record on the video camera because it was pretty sad, she was bawling like a sheep. I need to start practicing up close shots.

I got out Opening sunday and was busted by a young 6. Since then, It's been work, or I'm too lazy to get out. I'm going back out this weekend. Usually don't have any issues dropping a few does behind the house, so that will cover the MEATLESS FREEZER issue. Weather or not I get to fill a buck tag, well we will see how that plays out. Scheduled all of thanksgiving week off for vacation, So I'll have a whole week (minus the 25th for another test) to hunt ANYTHING I WANT!!! YAY!

Here in Maryland I have been out a ton. I have killed two deer. A doe and a little 3 point (Who was an old deer), Since late October I've seen a 12 point, a 10 point, 8 point, 6 point, two 4 points, and another 3 point. All on the same farm. Unfortunately I have to kill a doe before I can use my bonus buck tag . Gonna try to get my doe tag filled this week or next weekend.

I tell you what, the turkeys must have had a heck of a hatch this spring and summer because I've seen so many this fall that I'm sick of looking at 'em. Had 3 or 4 flocks around me at one time this morning and the one out in the corn field by the road got spooked and flew into the woods towards me and one of them was gonna land in my lap! It dodged at the last second as I was trying to turn the camera on.

So I was watching my doe kill video on the computer and was tinkering around with it,and realized that the doe had actually jumped the string , even though I hadnt noticed it when I shot. I paused the video as the arrow made contact, put my finger on the screen where the arrow was, and when I went back to where she was just as I let the arrow go, I found that my finger was laying right on the sweet spot, where I wanted to hit. Just goes to show how fast those deer can react. She was only 15 yards away and still managed to drop about 8-10" from the time my arrow left the bow to the time it made contact. I remember when she first came in, the wind was gusting and she was really nervous about it. Same thing happened to me! I have had an unbelievable season so far. I am 0-3 on nice bucks. The first buck I missed was at 44 yds unfortunately I misjudged the yardage. It's pretty stupid of me too because I had just ranged that spot a few minutes before he stood there so I knew it was 44 yds. The problem was it was still fairly dark in the morning when he appeared and I judged him at 35 yds. Ended up grazing belly hair. Then, that same evening (right at dark) I had 4 bucks and a doe come from across the field and feed in front of me about 80 yds out. Finally, the biggest buck of the group started making his way in to me. I should not have taken a shot but I did and don't know why. He was close to 50 yds and I could barely see my pin through the peep. I flung an arrow anyhow . Of course, I missed! Buck #3 was just this past Saturday morning. I had this pretty decent 8 point coming right at me. He started quartering to me. But he was about to walk right in to my scent cone. I had 2 choices shoot him right there at 27 yds or wait for him to cover about 15 yds to get around a scrubby bush. I was a afraid if I tried to let him get around the bush he would wind me. Just as I was starting to draw my bow back a big chunk of mud fell off of my platform. This got the bucks attention. I got drawn back but he was staring right at me. I released the arrow and I thought I had made a perfect shot but as my arrow was flying through the air it looked as if it was going to smack the deer just above the shoulder. Somehow he managed to drop clear to the ground and fall backwards away from my arrow. My arrow went fractions above his spine. I was completely dumbfounded by what I had witnessed. That is only the second time I have ever witnessed (in real life) a deer completely dodge an arrow or jump a string. Amazing! The funny thing is almost got to shoot him again about 5 minutes later after rattling him in! It's been an amazing season so far but it is just a few days from becoming really difficult.

I am going to be sitting in the two man stand over my bean/ corn/winterwheat/sorghum plot. Plenty of bean pods and corn left. Even sorgum heads. Should be a good hunt. Dad is taking the 44 mag lever action (scoped) and going for a trophy buck, and I am taking a 44 mag revolver going for a slickhead if it gets close enough. Wasnt gonna do any gun hunting this year but i thought it would be cool to use the revolver. Getting pics of at least 4 does in the beans every evening, some nice bucks in daylight and a lot of nice buck at night. I got a good feeling about it.
