Was talking to Chase Friday evening and he told me he wouldn't mind taking Saturday off work if I wanted to go fishing. My response was something like HECK YEAH!!!! We decided to hit a local pit we had never fished before and ended up at West Shovel(we were gonna fish East Shovel, but it was low and it was too muddy to launch around the edge.) We started out fishing the shallows and Chase caught a few dink bluegill on worms. Later we moved to deeper water and Chase caught a good bluegill on half a crawler. I tied on one of my tiny rooster tails and joined in on the action. We would have had a nice mess if we were keeping them. This lake is pretty shallow for a strip pit, deepest water I marked was 17', love to try it on the ice sometime. All the keeper size gills and redear were nice and thick. Like a blind squirrel find a nut, I lucked into 1 nice crappie.

Glad to see you guys got out together. I'm sure you really enjoyed this Troy! I know you've missed getting out and doing stuff with him.
On a side note...Once again, another summer has passed and I never got down to fish with you. What is this world coming to?? We really need to get out on the water together!!
