Anyone been out looking yet?? I've been a few times, but haven't found any. Got a feeling I probably won't until I get new glasses(definitely better get them before mushroom hunting time!) A buddy from Linton text me this pic last week of his hunting partner with a find... I looked for a while this evening and then rode the 4-wheeler around the field edge. Found where someone had shot a deer about 50 yards off the road. You could see where they had drug it out to the road. Guess they had to set their beer down where the deer dropped and then forgot it...it was still 1/3 full. Must of done it while the ground was froze because I didn't see any tracks.

I was going to go yesterday but ended up working all day. I'll probably go sometime next weekend though.

Hey Troy, did you drink the rest of that beer for them? So frustrating that we have people that do stuff like that!

Today's find. Found several deer carcasses. I have a feeling that this winter was really hard and culled out the weak. Maybe the better genetics lived.

Looks like those had been on the ground a while. I picked up my new glasses this afternoon, so I'm ready to get out again.

Yeah, the bigger two had green on them but I found them close to water. The small one is kinda funny. I seen a squirrel chewing on it and I chased it. You can barely tell its an antler but it has the small bumps around what is left of the base.

Still no luck for me today...even with the new glasses. I did see something pretty cool; kicked up 5 or 6 woodcock multiple times in our woods. Normally I only see 1 or 2 there. They sure make you jump when they wait til you almost step on them to bust up! Other than that, it was only a dead possum and a black snake soaking up the sun.

I didn't ask for permission to shed hunt where i normally do, this year. And haven't really been out much. Found a dead 8 point and took the rack. That's all for me. Everytime i visit my winter wheat plot i think there will be one laying in it, but i don't think there has been much deer around lately.

I'm not so sure that glasses will make the antler fall off . Just kidding. Dog training for shed antlers maybe? Make it easier on you. After the antlers I found this year, I think that maybe with the bad winter the rodents ate them up faster. Just a guess. I did not see many bucks where I have been shed hunting this year during hunting season so I didn't expect what I found. I'd like to look around where I missed a big 10pt during archery but it is super thick under growth there. It would be a rough day of shed hunting there, but thats where I seen the bigger bucks.

jsanders, that's what I wanna do. I wanna get a black lab pup and train it to find sheds. I think I would feel a lot more motivated to go shed hunting if I had a dog with me that would find them for me hahaha Let him do all the work
