Kind of tired of carrying a tripod and video camera around the woods, so I made a little modification to the gopro today that should make the audio at least usable.

Do you find that the GoPro mic is any better out of the case?

Do you find that the GoPro mic is any better out of the case? No, not really...plus the camera is pretty much useless unless you have a way of mounting it to something; which is done via the case.

I've been thinking it would be fun to get a GoPro for when I'm fishing creeks. My biggest complaint is the audio on them.
Your mod definitely helps with the audio, but I'd want to maintain the waterproof aspect.

So Troy...are you not satisfied with the GoPro? Not saying that all. We've had it 2 years and it's captured some very cool footage. It makes an awesome secondary camera to give a different angle for our videos as long as you have a main camera getting the audio. I'm just trying to make it usable on it's own so I don't have to pack around 2 cameras and a tripod.
