Howdy everyone, On 9/6/13 bow season opened here in Maryland. I was unable to get in the woods that Friday night, so I figured I would try my luck on Saturday morning (9/7/13). I got in the woods and it was relatively slow I only saw one deer a tight rack six point that I passed on. I had a double header for baseball that evening so I was unable to get back in the woods; the following Saturday (9/14/13) I got in the woods and it was around 41-42 degrees and the wind was light. It was a slow morning till around 8:00 and I heard a few twigs snap in a thicket about 40yds straight down from my tree stand, all the sudden a doe came out; she was a good size probably around 120lbs or so. I allowed her to get about 28yds away (broad side) stopped her, then I let her fly and heard a thump. I heard her start running then heard silence... I waited about 45 min to an hour then got down and started tracking. My dad was hunting in a stand about 75yds to my right so he hopped out and came to help me track. We tracked about 100-125yds as she was pumping blood the full way down we found her just in front of a corn field. So that wraps up the story of the first deer of my 2013 season! Attachments:
