From the Indiana DNR;Hunters can begin registering for put-and-take hunting for ring-necked pheasants at DNR fish & wildlife areas this fall. Registration runs through Nov. 30 at IndianaOutdoor.IN.gov. Put-and-take hunting for ring-necked pheasants will be offered Nov. 23 through Dec. 1 at Atterbury, Glendale, J. E. Roush Lake, Pigeon River (west of State Road 3), Tri-County, Willow Slough and Winamac fish & wildlife areas. The hunts are $25 per person. The bag limit is two birds of either sex. Hunters can select the date, property and location within the property for their hunt. Standard pheasant hunting will be extended at Atterbury and Glendale fish & wildlife areas until Jan. 15, offering hunters additional time to hunt birds that were not harvested during the put-and-take hunts. Are you guys doing this again? Dad come over and asked the other day and I said I'd be interested again. Couldn't believe I actually have that weekend off. Probably just hunt for fun this time and not worry about the video if I get to go. Chase - We didn't bother to ask you because of not knowing what your schedule would be that far off.

I'd be interested if you have room for an extra. If you have a spot for two, I know my f-i-l would like to go as well. I'm just a "guest" on these hunts, so I really don't have a say on who goes. I will definitely let you know if they're needing more people though. If I ever get my own dog you'll have an open invitation for whenever I go hunting. I've fallen in love with those German shorthaired pointers and hope to have one someday.

We went last year and quickly figured out that finding our birds without a dog was nearly impossible.
