Anybody else still after them? We found the birds last night, and got setup on the mearly this morning. They didn't want to gobble at first, but then it sounded like a 10 second war between turkeys and owls.. We got pretty close to where we thought they were, set up and did some calling, finally they answered, only about 60-80 yards, 3 seperate gobblers. They answered once or maybe twice more but weren't very responsive. We heard one fly down and it sounded like it was right behind us! As soon as they hit the ground, they shut up. Eventually one bird came into the field about 80 yards, looked at the decoys, and kept on with his day. Fed around for a bit then went back to the woods. It's gonna be tough to get a bird this late this year.

That's is almost exactly what happened to me today. Just didn't have the owl. They gobbled, flew down and shut up. Frustrating

I got my bird last tuesday after quite a few frustrating mornings. I finally just setup within sight of the bird on roost and got him right after he pitched out. 20# 10in beard 23mm spurs. Once i figure out how to put pics up from my phone ill post it. This turkey season looks like its been a tough one for most in southern indiana

Congrats Jordan! I held out and didn't even hunt this year. Glad too because there has been less action around here this spring since I can remember.

Last day wasn't even worth talking about. I went to all of my spots, and had no gobbles. found some birds in the fields, but there was no way to get close enough and they barely even looked my way when I called to them. I ended up throwing everything from yelps, kee-kee-runs, purring, jake yelps, and even gobbles at one group of birds. And they just sat there.
