I went out this evening to see if re trout were biting. The bite was slow, but I caught three. I also hooked a turtle in the tail. I got a little practice with my mouth call with a gobbler gobbling his head off. I'm not sure if it was a beaver or a muskrat, but I had some kind of rodent swim in front of me. It was an interesting trip.

I thought it was tasty. I'd like to try a different way of preparing it. I just floured it and fried it with the skin on it.

daybreak: Always loved Labor Day weekend. Time for those jet skis and speed boats to go back in storage and make room on the lakes for us fishermen again. (:))
