So.....I've been having trouble catching a bass out of our pond so far this spring. Dad put a thousand minnows in there last week and they've been gorging themselves on those things. I decided to downsize and go with this G&G Mini Chub... First cast along the pond dam and something slams it near shore. I reach over with one hand to turn on the video camera and right then a gust of wind knocks over the tripod. The drag is screaming and as I get both hands back on the rod....SNAP! WTH? I just put new line on this reel before we went to Florida. I used 6lb P-Line Floroclear and I've caught big fish on this stuff before. I'm pretty sure there's no bass or cats big enough in the pond to break this line.....so I'm thinking I must have snagged one of the big carp in there?? Now I want to go try and catch the carp to see if it's got a Mini Chub stuck in it! I tied on another Mini Chub and did end up catching a couple small bass on video at the pond and down the road at Hillenbrand FWA.
