Strippitman and me wanted to try a new pit at the forest yesterday so we tried Dogwood because of it's small size; thinking maybe it had warmed more than the others. There was a ton of fish warming themselves on the numerous humps in the lake, but none had any size to them...small redear, gills, and bass and we caught several of them. We marked a BUNCH of fish suspended in downed trees in 15-20fow, but could not get them to bite at all, on anything....minnows, worms, jigs....we tried everything we had. Matt finally pulled a fish out of there on a minnow and we were so excited to see how big the crappie was....and it was another dink bass! Never did catch a crappie. If we were hungry we could have had a mess of fish, but like I said, just not any size to them. This was probably the biggest of the day and I'd say it's only around 7 or 8"... It was good to fish with the Strippitman again! Hopefully I'll see you in a month or so.

Looks like a nice gill to me.
I need to find someone with a fish finder to get out on West Island so I can figure out what's what on the bottom.

I'd like to find a pile of crappie like those Matt and Chase caught last year.
