Reading some dnr stuff on the net about feral hogs in Indiana. I was wondering if its a big deal in southern Indiana? If so where can I give some a heat seeking carbon express?

Most of the hogs are located around where Lawrence County borders Jackson County.

Nope, not a big deal, at least not yet. They were rumored to be around here several years ago and there was even a pic on the front page of the Linton paper of one a guy killed in the Worthington/White River area. Haven't heard of a sighting around here for years other than one some local boys killed last deer season. They sent Chase a pic of it and it was a pot bellied pig. The ones Goose is talking about are pretty well documented. Lot's of stories and pics on IndianaSportsman.com and Indiana Game & Fish even did a story on it last October. www.indianasportsman.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=65I'm sure they'd be fun to hunt, but I hope I never get the opportunity here locally. The turkeys tick me off sometimes the way they can tear up a woods.....I can't imagine what a 200# hog could do!

They say those hogs are massively destructive! I think I'd rather not have them around

my buddy invited me to go hog hunting in tunnelton which is a small town in Lawrence county near Bedford. He said they hunt on some private property where there is a big swampy area and they have shot at hogs in there and never killed one i dont think.. And another buddy close to him has a 300 acre farm and showed me a bunch of trail cam pics of big hogs and some had little baby pigs w with them.. He said they let the DNR hunt the pigs on their land.. I might have to take my friend up on that offer this summer or next fall. Since there is no season for hogs! There are several big pig farms near my house and there is a swamp like area near one pig farm about 1/4 mile from my house and all it wpould take is for a male and a female pig to get loose and they will turn wild real fast and bang ill be huntin hogs

Greendog you guys definitely have a bunch more turkeys than we do up north for sure. I've thought about coming down and getting a bird in your area. Love the pits that's for sure. Iceon
