Here's a rainbow I caught a couple years ago at Greene-Sullivan State Forest. One spring I decided I wanted to catch one and on the second trip I finally did. Caught it on a worm, I think it was around 14 inches. It was the hardest fighting little fish I've ever caught, it went airbourne about 5 times while reeling it in! I brought it home and grilled it for lunch.

I wouldn't mind catching one but it's hard to fish when you know you should be in the woods.

Greene-Sullivan State Forest is made up of really old strip mined land, so the trout are stocked every spring. The lake that's stocked for trout does'nt really receive that much fishing pressure and the trout thrive in the clear deep water of the pit. So the fish that our stocked and can be kept at only 7 inches end up like this!: There's not any wild trout in our part of the Hoosier State.

Chase and me went back to the forest this morning for more trout "action." Chase woke up under the weather, but decided to try it anyhow. We packed a lunch and made a day of it. Ended up with one. Caught about 25' deep in 40' water on a redworm. These little fighters are driving me nuts. I can catch one a trip and that's it. I think it's time to move on to bigger and better things! The video just uploaded. It will be available here soon:
