I went shed hunting for the first time 5 years ago. I decided to start after we captured pics of this beautiful 8-point during the summer of '07 that we simply called "Brow Tine." We never seen him again after these July pics... In this picture he's looking up towards our pond dam. That following late winter/early spring, I decided to go have a look. First time out and I hadn't been walking 20 minutes when I see my lab mix, Max, sniffing something in the trail up ahead. I walk up and low and behold...it's one of "Brow Tines" sheds!! It was found where a heavy deer trail "T'd" with another one. I crisscrossed and zigzagged that entire area for the weeks to come, but never did find the other side, or another shed that spring for that matter. Ever since then though, I try to get out and have a look around. You never know! The rumor was that this buck was poached from the road about a mile from us the following fall, but I've never been able to confirm it.

Good story and a nice shed. Sad to hear of ''Brow Tine's'' demise if it was indeed at the hands of a poacher.
I have never found a shed. With all of the time I spend mushroom hunting I figure I would have stumbled across one by now, but I have never seen one in any of the spots I hit.

Nice shed! What gets me pumped up about shed hunting is the thought that i could find a huge shed one of these days.. cuz where i shed hun the landowner feeds the deer and doesnt let anybody hunt except his neighbor.. And his neighbor kills big bucks back there.. Last year he said he killed a 180" + buck! That would be nice sheds to find! I have only found one complete set of sheds and that was last year and it was a 115" 8 point if i remember correctly. I found all my sheds except for one in fields last year. And the i found that set within 150 yards of each other
