I went shed hunting for the first time 5 years ago. I decided to start after we captured pics of this beautiful 8-point during the summer of '07 that we simply called "Brow Tine." We never seen him again after these July pics...
In this picture he's looking up towards our pond dam.
That following late winter/early spring, I decided to go have a look. First time out and I hadn't been walking 20 minutes when I see my lab mix, Max, sniffing something in the trail up ahead. I walk up and low and behold...it's one of "Brow Tines" sheds!!
It was found where a heavy deer trail "T'd" with another one. I crisscrossed and zigzagged that entire area for the weeks to come, but never did find the other side, or another shed that spring for that matter. Ever since then though, I try to get out and have a look around. You never know!
The rumor was that this buck was poached from the road about a mile from us the following fall, but I've never been able to confirm it.

Just another night at work for me and Monty will be back here again bright and early.
