I decided to sit in a blind this morning where deer had been moving through from around 930-11. I set some muskrat traps at th ecrack of dawn then go to the blind which I find to be surrounded by cows. So I decide to sit in a buddy stand for a bit in a different spot, because you can't kill anything when your not in the woods. After about a half an hour I see a small but decent buck, waited for him to walk three steps to my shooting lane for about 3 minutes. It was about a 75-80 yard shot, with open sight rem. 870 12 guage, I squeezed the trigger he bucked and kicked and took off, I saw a nice red spot on his shoulder. after about 10 minutes I decided to go look for blood, all I found was a chunk of bone covered in blood MY neighbor heard the shot and came over to start helping me, we followed where I though he had gone over the hill ot bed down by some thick stuff around a duck pond in the pasture, finding a couple more bone bits and a few blood drops on the way, and then busted him up..... MY friend said he went down 3 times as he was running away, I couldn't see him though. Backed out till now and I'm gonna go look around some more. Wish me luck.

Find him? No luck The whole block that I killed him on is pasture with thick russian olivescrub trees and thickets, so he could be anywhere and you could've walked 10 yards by him and never known it. So I walked through all nearby areas and bedding areas and any little ponds/ditches and found nothing.. There's biger deer out there anyway I guess, but I really hate to wound the buck and not find him...

I'm thinking the slug hit the joint of the shoulder/leg and stopped there, as he couldn't run good at all and kept falling and getting back up.
