Good luck to all in the woods! Be safe, and don't forget to put orange on your blinds! Unfortunately I have basketball practice from 8-10 then a scrimage at 1 with 5, 12 minute quarters. Probably no time in the woods here today, but who knows. Hope to see some BBD's

Yep, good luck and BE SAFE! I've already heard from Monty. Sam has a doe down. Monty's working, so guess who gets to go help.

I killed a decent 10 point this morning. Got in the woods just before the crack of dawn and sat under a big oak tree in some really open woods close to some scrapes. So about 7:15 someone shows up dressed in Orange driving a 4 wheeler with a trailer on the back with a ladderstand hanging off the back. They drive about 100 yards from me, then i took off after him, but my dad talked to him first and the guy said he had permission to hunt this morning so i went back to my spot. The guy drives all the way around the cornfield for about 10 more minutes..lol So i get back and sit down under a different tree this time. I sat there for about 5 min and decided i really cant see what is going on up ahead of me so i sneak to a different tree and decide to stand up instead of sitting down. Well about 10 minutes after that i heard some rustling ahead of me and see a white tail waving thru the brush and i decide its probly a big doe and i wasnt gonna shoot it. Well, it disappears for a few seconds and when i look up i see a decent sized buck facing directly at me looking at me. We stood there looking at each other for about 15 seconds. Then i very slowly cocked and rasied my gun, rested against the tree and i shot it right in the chest from head on.I shot it from about 60 yards or so with my 44 lever action ..When i looked thru my scope at where it had stood, it was gone and i didnt hear it run off. I thought maybe i missed. Then i saw it start flopping on the ground and it soon expired. Called my dad to tell him i shot a buck, and it turned out to be a pretty nice 10 pointer. Looking at it thru the scope all i could tell was how wide it was. It was almost out to the ears and big bodied. I geussed it was a 3 yr old but could be a 2 yr old..not sure on that. Had scars on its back form fighting/getting shot. I am 99% sure i have video of this buck. ANd i am almost certain it was the buck i passed up the day i killed that doe.. It definitely wasnt near as exciting as bowhunting, but it was fun.I was more pumped when i shot a yearling doe than this deer. lol It is my biggest buck by far. Not a bad deal at all when you get a nice buck killed, dressed, and loaded up in the first hour of the hunt. Im happy
