Coyotes have been a nuisance in this area for years.

I'm always ready to pull the trigger on a yote but they never make an appearance when I'm in the woods.

They are thick around here, but they sure is smart! We've never been able to call one in around our place. I've been looking into doing some snaring this winter, but it worries me that I'd catch a bobcat. I've watched a few youtube videos of people releasing bobcats; it does NOT look fun!

I saw a video of one that someone caught east of Bloomington. The CO put one of those snare poles around its neck so they could release the foot hold. The way that thing was whipping around I couldn't believe that it didn't snap its neck.

I was hunting this morning and at about 10 I heard something off to my right towards a cut corn field. Seen a squirrel in a tree and thought that was the noise, then all of a sudden I see a white tail flashing as a deer is running away. Was trying to figure out how it had spotted me when I caught movement to the left...it was a BIG yote trotting down the edge of the field. I turn on the camera and grab my bow, I've got the coyote in the camera frame and go to hit record; but hit "menu" instead. By the time I got the camera out of the menu the yote was out of range. I "squeaked" it back a little, but not close enough to shoot. I STINK at this self filming thing!! Was a little surprised to see a yote at that time of day.
