Didn't hunt to night in that wind but as me and my boy headed to the wood shed (not because he had one coming) to bring in a load of wood for the stove, I noticed this fresh scrape. This next one shows the licking branch in relation to the house, about a 30 yd shot from my bedroom window. Found another in the back corner of the yard.

Make sure to get the screens removed for that moment when you see him working that scrape. I would keep the gun and bow right next to the bedroom window too

I see deer in our backyard all the time, even some young bucks. There is a small field inside the woods about 100 yards from my house, and next spring i am going to try and plant some soybeans in it and have my own little honey hole that nobody else will even know exists except me. My cousin hunts back there too and i dont want him to know where my plots are.. I might add somethin else to the beans to add some diversity. Might just take some sunflower seeds and scatter them all around with the beans, or plant it half in beans and half in alfalfa or mayb corn but that would take alot more work to plant though. It would be nice to only have to go 100 yards to get to my stand
