It's that time of year for me to chase some steel on the Joe. With gas prices fluctuating the way they have been recently and the kids busy with all there activities, I've only been able to make it up to Mishawaka a few times so far. But I've been fortunate enough to get a few. I was even able to get one of my good friends on his first steel. All my fish have been caught on spinners this year. On a side note I caught my personal best smallie (21-1/2") while steelhead fishing.

Congrats and thanks for sharing. I'm glad to see you got your buddy to take a break from hunting long enough to catch his first steel.

Great job John! It looks like you were fishing just off capitol near the dam? If you were I may have seen your boat parked in front of the inlet on the north side

On a side note, I've missed seeing you post on IndianaAngler (my handle is chewbacca on that site) but glad to see you posting here. Keep your lines tight and hammer those steelies! I'd sure like to give this a try sometime!

daybreak: Always loved Labor Day weekend. Time for those jet skis and speed boats to go back in storage and make room on the lakes for us fishermen again. (:))
