Chase got out for the first time Saturday and had an encounter with a buck he simply calls "The Nine." He has some trailcam pics of it and said he would have probably taken it if it would have provided a good, clean shot. Here's his self filmed video...

not camera shy is he? Chase, at the end of video did he wind you or hear you? Seems like something spooked him?

Nice buck. If he came within 35 or 40 yards of my stand i would try a shot. I seen a nice 8 poinbt on opening day and just saw him again on tuesday night. And monday night i had a big 10 pointer come out and walk straight down the fence to me until he got 70 yards and he jumped the fence again. Watched him make a scrape and stand on his hind legs to put scent on the branch above the scrape. I have video of them but unfortunately i didnt get him making the scrape. He was the biggest deer i have seen while hunting. probably a 130- 140 class. Thats a trophy to most people. And yeah i think that deer probably got your scent. But atleast you werent like me, i was in the stand and poured a hot cup of coffee and the wind switched and of course as soon as i poured it some does came about 20 yards downwind of me and spooked,lol I wasnt going to shoot them anyways.

Just another night at work for me and Monty will be back here again bright and early.
