DC, My advice to you concerning the beagle trainer is this...A well bred hound is already geneticly "pretrained". There is little that we can teach them about running a rabbit that isn't already prewired into their brain. Take your pup to areas where there are rabbits, and let him/her have fun. Don't put any pressure on him at first. A good hound can teach us more than we can teach them about running a rabbit. It is just important to let them spend time in the field to learn( both of you actually). It is really neat to watch a young dog get scent in thier nose the first time and open up on a rabbit, and start to figure things out. There are some guys around Danville, IN that have some starting pens to help get a pup started. Look up Central Indiana Beagle Club. Hope this helps!

Good advice, racrappieman, and welcome to the site! dchunterfisher - A buddy of mine just dropped a couple pups off to a guy in Cloverdale on Saturday. He said it was $125 for the 2 dogs. Let me know if you're interested and I'll find out the contact info.
