Man, i had a close one. I was squirrel huntin on some public land maybe only 1/4 mile back and hunted a little and started to head back and i got a little bit turned around.. 
At first i was thinking no big deal i could hear the road and i think i know where im goin.. then the wind picked up and it got dark in the woods and i still wasnt that worried.. Than it was blowing about 40 mph maybe more and it started to POUR down rain.And i kept walking toward where i thought the road was and i just kept walking for about an hour..the brush was really thick and i was soaked. Once i came to the top of the ridge where i thought the road was and saw more woods was when i got a little scared, there was lightning all over the place too.. THen i looked at my phone and it was dying! I really was scared even though i was pretty sure i could wait the storm out if i had to. Finally i found the powerlines and followed it until i found the road. That was a good feeling.
Things i should have done that i didnt.
-Check the weather
-take a compass
- been better prepared..I had a headlamp a pocket knife, 22 and 50 rounds. And i should have followed a landmark like a ridge or a creek into the woods since i didnt know the area well.
Didnt think id ever get lost in there.Wow. I am still shaking and it was 2 hours ago.Be careful guys
