I dont know about makin one, but i would reccommend buying a cage trap..thats what i used to use to train my dog with.. I usually caught coons, but i would also catch possums and rabbits. Of course ive never tried to catch a squirrel in it..im sure it could be done. I dont remember how much they cost

you may want to try making a squirrel pole. It is basically a long branch with a bunch of wire snares running up the length of it. You then lean it against a tree in an area with a lot of squirrels.
Just google "squirrel pole" or "how to make a squirrel pole"

I would say snaring/110 conibears/cagetraps/large rat traps could all be effective, just experiment and make sure to tell us what you decide works

A .22 to the the 'ol noggin or a pellet if you live in a neighborhood usually does just fine, but if you want it alive i'd go with the box trap idea seems like a squirrel could wiggle out of a noose or snare. They like corn and peanut butter

Cut the top off of a milk jug then put peanut butter or bird seed or watever you prefer and then set a 110 conibear in front of it. that setup works well
