Today, me and my dad were walking before daylight to a bird that was gobbling a good 250 yards away when this bird gobbled 70 yards to the right of an old logging road we were walking on. so we got set up on the left side and faced the right side, directly across from the bird. when the sun started to light up the sky good enough to where we knew he would be coming up the road soon, we gave a few soft yelps and he never stopped gobbling.
Then he flew down to the right of me about 30 yards and when he came up to the 20 yard range I let him have it. He had right at a 10 inch beard and 1 inch spurs. A great bird in my book.
