Just curious, but is a spotted bass different than a large mouth?

So...is a spotted bass the same thing as a small mouth? Here's a chart that shows the different varities of bass recognized by B.A.S.S. for their "Bass Slam." www.bassmaster.com/sites/default/files/imce/Slam_Species20110412.pdfI know those spots run small, but they are some great fighters! West Lake at Greene-Sullivan Dugger Unit is full of them.

Interesting. I didn't know there were so many varieties of bass. My f-i-l calls the bass in my grandma's pond Kentucky bass. I'll be curious to see the verdict from those that attend the meet & greet.

Kentuckies and spots are the same, The jaw line should come just to the eye with one. Where a largemouth it goes past the eye, and a smallmouth it doesn't quite make it. Spotted bass also have teeth on there tongue.
