Dad and me went back down to the forest this morning. Today the bite was hot to start then totally STOPPED around 9. Dad started off with 2 crappie and I caught one of those monster redear and some real nice gills. I cast a minnow out and got too close to the bank and when I reeled it in a little a fish grabbed it. Wasn't sure what it was and when it got to the boat it was a big bass! We saw each other at the same time and it went straight down and snapped my line. 
I don't even think it new it was hooked until it saw the boat. I did end up landing a 15" bass, but it wasn't near as big as the one that got away. 
From 9-12 we fished hard and the bites were few and far between. We were able to catch an occasional keeper gill and Dad ended up catching another of those huge redear before we called it a day a little after noon.
Most fish came on worms, with a crappie, and a couple big gills on minnows along with the bass. Same pattern as yesterday...fish were shallow close to deeper water(at least until 9, then we don't know where they went.

The 2 big redear aren't pictured; they're swimming around in our pond now. The bass was gonna be set free in our pond too, but he committed suicide on the way home(jumped out of the livewell), so he got filleted too.
