Match the stinger to the size of bait. I have found the 8 to be too large for 6" or less. His bait is about 5". ;-) This is important in a drift presentation because your bait is looking for a place to hide. Read as... snag. Low pro is the way to go. His front hook is likely/should be a 6 or an 8. Kahle, L-42's, or Gamakatsus' round one for example. (All no set hooks btw.)
I prefer size 8 hooks and size 10 for the stinger for baits and tie to the hook, but ultimately will always just match hook size to the bait size.
Larger hooks work great only if they dont see them first, or arent stuck on something IMO. ;-)
