Well guys, i'm back. I took a couple months off from the board, but now, much to your chagrin, i am BACK WITH A VENGEANCE!! Anywho, my son got royaly screwed ( as did I ) out of deer season last year. He had a gun, a place (on private land or so we thought) and he worked hard all summer to get dialed in for that one big shot....) He really wants to hunt in the worst way, but I WILL NOT take him hunting during gun season on public land...just too dangerous. To combat this issue for this up coming deer season I picked up a bow for him for christmas he will be able to handle for next deer season. I picked up a Winchester (yes, they make bows...and DAMN FINE bows they are...seriously thinking about getting one myself they shoot just that nice!) Its a Winchester "Thunderbolt" shoots 290 FPS, weighgs in at 2.5 lbs, has a 7.375" brace height, is 31.5" axle to axle has an adjustable draw weight from 15 to 50 lbs and an adjustable draw length from 17" to 28" . Perfect for a growing lad that wants to hunt. It came with a trophy ridge whisker biscuit rest. We slapped a copper john 3 pin fiber optic sight and hes in business! Working with his new "toy"We are both VERY excited about this upcoming trout season. We will be camping where i hunt trout and when we are not fishing we will be scouting the public land in that area for places to put our stands for this upcoming deer season.

Welcome back! Looks like your boy's set up great for next season and beyond. (No, I didn't realize Winchester made bows. ) That's too bad about your deer season. I saw more hunters than deer this season myself. I don't know about you, but I'm ready to do some fishing! Can't wait for those trout reports to start coming in.

After my deer season getting totally scuttled. (Lost private place then landed an urban spot, set up my stand, sat 3 hours, came back next afternoon only to find logging crews cutting the mature trees on this plot ) My annual salmon camp also got shot in the arse! Went to N. MI, set up camp, was ready to hammer 'em on the biggest run with the biggest fish in over a decade and before i could even wet a line got slammed with a serious case of bronchitis. (Dr said i was lucky i came home and got in when i did....my oxygen saturation was just that low. My lungs simply werent working!) Needless to say, I am SOOOO ready for some trouting!! I NEED to get out!!! By the by... ...Greene, that invitation is still good.
