They are awesome birds for sure. the first and only One I have ever seen in the wild was at Salamonie Res. about Two winters ago, pretty cool how seeing One of these birds makes you stop and think about our country.

Me and the boys were out in the yard doing some work when we heard a comotion in our woods. Looked to see two eagles flying out of the woods. They landed again and I was able to take this photo. Looks like a young female. The male was above her in the same tree but we didn't see him until he took off. Here is a picture of the male as they soared above our pasture. I saw one about a mile down the road a couple of years ago just standing out in a field and have seen one here one other time.

Jon...that's so weird! I was just telling Kim about seeing an eagle down the road when Colt and me were coming back from fishing. It was a female and was flying along our road east of the house here and landed in a tree above a small pit. Very cool!

I have seen a few of them around the Goose Pond. I actually caught one going to the water one day and thought that was pretty cool. I figured it was one of the birds from the nest that is just off of 59 south of the road to Pleasantville. I can confirm that the nest is indeed an eagle's nest. I stopped on Saturday and scanned it with my binoculars. I was able to see the white head and yellow beak. Sadly, it appears as if the branch holding the nest broke and the nest fell to the ground. I hope the eagles rebuild somewhere close by.

I thought they may have relocated to the nest on the other side of that pasture off of pleasantville road because I haven't seen them in the highwa nest since last winter I believe.

A couple weeks back I saw one perched in a tree over a pond near 41 and the turn off to Paxton. Earlier in the day I had driven by the same pond and thought to myself that looks like a place you'd see an eagle.
I saw one flying overhead on New Year's Day in downtown Ellettsville. I figured that was a good sighting to start the year.
Even though sightings are becoming more common around our neck of the woods, I still enjoy seeing such a majestic bird

that's awesome. I've seen probably a dozen bald eagles in the past few years. Most recently soaring over Shakamak Lake. Before that, I had one fly right over my head 20ft high at my old house in a Terre Haute naighborhood. Caught me totally off guard.
