Thanks guys. They have gone nocturnal I think for now but will hopefully be back out during the day during the rut. Chase or B-rad, I see you are both from Greene County. Who do you recommend to take the meat to get processed if I shoot anything this season down there? I am from just North of Indy but like I said I lease 80 acres in Greene County and do not want to have to haul the deer all the way back to Indy if I whack one.

I'm not even sure of any processing places in that portion of the county. Like Brad said Bloomfield meat locker would be the closest I know and even Odon wouldn't be too far out of the way from where you're hunting at. Bloomfield is nice cause you can check your deer in at the locker plant and then drop it off for processing. I take mine to Hamilton's in Jasonville. It's more convenient for me since I live in Sullivan and hunt around the Worthington area.

We usually process our own unless it's too warm to let 'em hang. The only place we've taken ours is to Johnny May, who's just south of Midland on 59. He does a real good job and at a fair price. I haven't heard if he's still doing it this year. He threatens to retire every year.

Thanks a lot Spainy and Greenedog. Appreciate the info. Good luck this weekend to everyone. Heading down to Greene after I get off work at Noon for the rest of the weekend. Cannot wait... just hope the wind cooperates a little. Spainy, great pic of the bobcat. Greene county has been put on the map in last year or so because of them it seems

Just heard yesterday for sure that John May is processing this year and I don't think he has been too busy so far.

FWIW, I took a deer to John on Friday, so he is processing again this year. Trotter suggested Hamilton's in Jasonville, but their phone number is disconnected.
A side note, I found out that John used to be married to my Pop's first cousin.
