I took my bow, climber stand, ranger finder and target to the woods. I shot 20, 40, and 50yards. Every shot was flat and hit the intended spot except the 50. I had to put my 60 pin just below where I wanted the arrow to hit. I got down and shot the 50 perfect on flat ground. Is this normal?

Good question. I can't hardly even SEE a target at 50 yards though, so I'm not much help.

yes! Where as i, personally, wouldnt take or recommend a 50 yd shot at a deer with archery tackle....
....its a matter of basic trigonometry or figuring the distance of an angle.
Whats being discussed is a basic triangle. When your up in a tree, shooting out to something one the ground, the distance you are shooting actually increases. It wont be (as) noticeable at closer ranges but as you stretch out your distance, or your height or both, the change in POI will become more noticeable.
Hope this helps.

Many range finders have a setting now a days that figure in your angle and give you both distances. The actaul distance and the distance you should consider for shooting.
